What to look for: The border garden in Moore County at Pinewild Country Club was designed by a Sandhills Community College horticulture student. The Linden Garden Club at Pinewild installed the plants in the garden and continues to maintain it.

This border has plants that provide year-round interest. The evergreens and deciduous trees hold the structure of the garden in the winter. The Edgeworthia blooms a fragrant yellow in late winter followed by purple flowers on the Redbud. As spring turns to summer many dormant perennials emerge and the Hydrangeas bloom. The Crepe Myrtle has refreshing white flower clusters in mid-summer and the Beauty Berry puts on a show of purple fruits throughout the fall. Annuals are added for seasonal color.
