Phlox INTENSIA® Group
- Phonetic Spelling
- FLOCKS
- Description
-
Intensia® Phlox are a group of cultivars from Proven Winners. They are colorful annuals that do well in containers or other planting beds and will bloom virtually all summer. With a little deadheading In August, they may continue blooming until frost. They will reach around 16 inches tall and wide.
They bloom best with fertile, dry to average moisture well-drained soil and full sun but are tolerant of some afternoon shade or filtered light through trees. They should be mulched to conserve moisture and deter weed competition. Over-watering should be avoided. Intensia® Phlox is a good choice for a low-water garden or xeriscape. They are fragrant and attract nectar-hungry bees and butterflies.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Rabbit browsing can be a problem.
