Japanese silver grass Miscanthus sinensis 'Adagio'

Other plants called Japanese silver grass:

Phonetic Spelling

Description

'Adagio' is a dwarf grass and is probably the shortest of the Miscanthus cultivars. The foliage is narrow and the flowers bloom consistently through August then remain on the plant erect into the winter months providing wonderful interest during the winter season. This plant is a good choice for a small landscape but be aware of its tenancies to spread through wind-dispersed seeds.  Using a thick layer of mulch around plants and quickly removing seedlings will reduce the chances.
