Small Daylily Hemerocallis minor
Other Common Name(s):
Previously known as:
- Hemerocallis graminea
- Phonetic Spelling
- hem-er-oh-KAL-iss MY-nor
- Description
-
Dwarf Yellow Daylily grows 1-2 feet tall and will form clumps making it a good ground cover. The bright yellow flowers appear in May-June and the arching foliage is attractive even when the plant is not blooming. This plant has been used as a parent for hybridizing dwarf daylilies.
Daylilies are easy to grow in average moist well-drained soil in sun to partial shade. Use in mass plantings, rock gardens, in the front of the border or on slopes to help prevent erosion. Divide clumps as needed when they become overcrowded.
For more daylily options see Hemerocallis hybrida.
