Common Name(s):

Phonetic Spelling
kon-VOLV-yoo-lus ar-VEN-sis
Description

This European vine in the Morning Glory family can be found in moist thickets, fields, lawns, and disturbed areas. It is tolerant of poor soils and drought and prefers full sun.

While the flowers are beautiful, it is considered an invasive and a noxious weed in 22 States, mostly in the west and midwest from Michigan to California. It spreads by seeds, roots and rhizomes and has a very long taproot making it very difficult to eradicate.
