Hyssop Agastache 'Astello Indigo'

Description

Astello indigo is a hybrid Agastache in the Lamiaceae (mint) family.  and grows vigorously to 20 inches tall in a compact clump.

The deep green leaves are arranged oppositely on square stems and smell a little like rootbeer when crushed.  The upright spikes are fully covered with deep indigo-blue flowers that exude a fresh minty scent that attracts butterflies and bees

Plant in full to part sun in well-drained soils. It is drought and heat tolerant once established and the leaves are free of foliar diseases. As with all members of the Agastache genus, it is important not to plant them in clay and poorly drained soils. Winter wetness will do them in. 

In colder climates, it can be grown as an annual.  'Astello Indigo'  provides a long season of blooms and attracts many pollinators to the landscape.

Grow this plant in containers, a pollinator garden, and mass plantings. The flowers make beautiful additions fresh flower bouquets so consider adding this vertical plant to your borders or cottage garden.
