What to look for: From the patio, one has expansive views of trees, shrubs, and flowering ornamentals. A short stroll up the rustic stone steps leads to the plants and a seating area at the top of the gentle slope. This landscape has a large variety of plants including soft touch compact holly, peony, blue lake juniper, and roses.

A retaining wall prevents soil erosion onto the deck and provides easy access to the low perennials near the wall.
