Description

This cultivar is no longer readily available from commercial sources. 

Sun Runner is a vigorous hybrid shrub in the rose family (Rosaceae) bred by Gerrit Pieter Ilsink of the Netherlands and released in 1998. Parentage is Unnamed Seedling × Unnamed Seedling.

It grows 1 to 2 feet tall and 3 feet wide in a more horizontal than upright form. It prefers full sun in moist amended well-drained soil. Prune in late winter to early spring.

 It has attractive yellow blooms that appear from spring through fall. They are 1-2 inches wide with 5-10 petals and a mild citrus fragrance. Dark green foliage on stems with prickles.

Use Sun Runner as a ground cover, in a container or to line a walkway.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:   Good disease resistance. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
