Description

 A dwarf plant that grows in a compact globose spreading mound.  Its branches are typically horizontal with upright branchlets and stiff glossy dark green needles that grow in bundles of two.  

As it ages, it may develop some drought tolerance.

Insect, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  This tree is susceptible to wind damage.  Some problems include its sensitivity to Schaeropsis tip blight, Dothistroma needle blight.  Pests affecting this plant include pine moth and pine wilt nematode.
