Description

An evergreen grass-like plant that resembles a large Liriope.  Cultivar has irregularly green and white striped leaves, spikes of white flowers in the summer, and violet-black fruit in the fall.  Genus name comes from the Greek ophis meaning snake and pogon meaning beard.

Full sun to shade; moist rich well-drained soil; spreads slowly via rhizomes; propogate by division
