Fittonia verschaffeltii

Common Name(s):
Mosaic plant, Nerve plant
Category:
Groundcover
Comment:

This tropical plant is commonly grown as a houseplant where it thrives on bright light to medium light, average to cool room temperature, and high humidity.  It preforms well under flourecent lights. This plan is ideal for use in a terrarium.  Leaves will shrivel and fall off in dry air, drafts, or direct sun.  Pinch the stems regularly to keep the plant bushy and full.  Roots are shallow so you can keep it in a small pot.

Foliage:
Deep green ovate leaves with showy veins of white, pink, or red.
Flower:
Flowers are insignificant so pinch off to encourage more leaf growth.
Size:
12 inch spread
