Trailing Geranium Geranium procurrens

Description

Trailing geranium is a mound-forming to trailing, deciduous, herbaceous perennial geranium found in the Himalayas from Nepal to Assam from 6,800 to 11,400 feet.  It has purple-magenta flowers that appear late summer to early fall and deeply lobed leaves on long tailing reddish stems. The plant can tolerate temperatures down to -10 degrees F.

The plant prefers full sun in moist well-drained soil in cool summer areas. Best used as a ground cover, in a naturalized area, a container or a border. It most likely won't like the heat and humidity of the SE USA.
