- Description
-
Echinacea 'Tomato Soup' is a hybrid coneflower cultivar between the yellow Echinacea paradoxa and the purple-pink Echinacea purpurea ‘Ruby Giant’. It has brilliant red flowers and an upright, clumping habit.
It does best in full sun (tolerating part shade) and moist to dry, average soil. Like its parent plants, it is very tolerant of many conditions including drought, dry soil, heat, humidity, poor soil, rocky soil, and deer. It even reblooms without deadheading, though it will benefit from doing so regardless.
