- Description
-
Jolt™ Pink Dianthus is an interspecific hybrid of Dianthus barbatus. It was bred to be fragrant, heat tolerant, and have long-lasting hot pink flowers with dark pink venation and the typical fringed petals. It grows to a height of 16 to 20 inches and a width of 12 to 14 inches.
Plant it in full sun to partial shade in rich, well-drained soils. Deadheading spent flowers throughout the season and regular light fertilization will help the plant keep blooming from late spring to early fall. Prune back in the fall after flowers are finished.
This low maintenance, easy to grow plant is a great choice for mixed containers, pathways, rock gardens, or mass planted in the middle of colorful borders. It will be a star in a cutting garden or plant it near a patio to enjoy its sweet fragrance.
