Agastache 'Purple Haze'

Phonetic Spelling
ag-ah-STA-kee
Description

'Purple Haze' giant hyssop is a hybrid cultivar in the mint family (Lamiaceae)

It will grow 2-3 feet tall and 1-2 feet wide in very well-drained soil in full sun. Raised beds or containers provide drainage if you have heavy clay soil. Do not overwater or fertilize.

Spikes of tubular flowers create a bluish-purple hazy especially when several are planted together. Bloom time is early summer to fall. The aromatic foliage deters deer browsing.

Use near the front of the border of a native/pollinator garden, rock garden or container and watch as the pollinators flock to the flowers.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:   No significant problems.  Leaf spot, powdery mildew, and rust are occasional problems.  Poorly drained soils will lead to crown rot.
