Arizona Cypress, var. glabra 'Carolina Sapphire' is great screening evergreen tree. consider the A conical, broadly pyramidal growing conifer, it will grow about 1-2 feet per year and reach a mature height of 40-50 feet and width of 15-20 feet. If creating a screen, you will want to plant at least 7 feet apart. It does best in full to partial sun. It has beautiful silvery blue/teal coloration year round. The branches are sturdy but have a lacy appearance. Its aroma and color interest make a great display in holiday greenery.
It is rather drought tolerant, has low water requirement once established, and can withstand the heat of summer. It is relatively trouble-free, and moderately deer resistant, making it a good choice for screening, compared to other fast-growing evergreen choices.
