Downy Golden Rod is a short native perennial in the daisy family that is found in southeast and south-central USA and in all areas of NC. It has striking yellow flowers in clusters that attract a variety of pollinators and beneficial insects. It blooms in fall to late fall when nectar plants can be in short supply.
Plant in average moist to dry soils with good drainage in sun to partial sun. It may need to be staked. Use in the native/pollinator garden or in woodland and naturalized areas.
