- Description
-
Crimson Pitcher Plant is native to coastal Florida and Alabama. It is a hooded carnivorous plant that prefers moist and low-nutrient longleaf pine savannas primarily along the coastal plain. While not native to North Carolina, it has been introduced and has naturalized in the coastal plains. It has become endangered in some areas due to loss of habitat.
These plants can be grown at home in a carefully prepared bog garden. They can also be grown in a container. Do not fertilize.
