Description

'Yesterday' is a Polyantha rose cultivar in the rose family (Rosaceae) bred by Jack Harkness and introduced into Great Britain in 1974. Parentage is ('Phyllis Bede' x 'Shepherd's Delight') x 'Ballerina'.

This shrub will grow 3-4 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. Plant in amended well-drained garden soil in full sun. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes.

The lilac-pink flowers are single to semi-double, appear in clusters of 5-25 and are 1-2 inches across with a light musky fragrance. It blooms continuously through fall. The small dark green glossy leaves are on canes with prickles.

Received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society and the Baden-Baden Gold Medal in 1975.
