Rosa 'Duet'

Common Name(s):

Phonetic Spelling
RO-zuh
Description

'Duet' is a hybrid tea rose cultivar shrub in the Rosaceae (rose) family. Bred from Rosa 'Fandango' and Rosa 'Roundelay' by Herbert Swim in 1960 and introduced the same year by Armstrong Roses.  The following year it was named an All-American Rose Selection winner.

Its most notable feature is the contrasting colors of its numerous ruffled petals.  The upper side is a pale pink with a touch of coral, while the underside is a dark purple-pink.  The cultivar and common name both refer to this 'Duet' of colors.

The ruffled, double 4-5" flowers are high-centered and can grow in clusters or as a single bloom.  Repeat blooming occurs from spring through the early winter.

Pruning should be accomplished in late winter to early spring.  Flowers will form and bloom on new wood.

Resistant to black spot, mildew and rust.
