Description

White Meidiland is a hybrid miniature shrub in the rose family (Rosaceae) bred by Marie-Louise (Louisette) Meilland of France in 1987. Parentage is Temple Bells X Rosa ‘MEIgurami’.

White Meidiis a hardy vigorous shrub that will grow 1-3 feet tall and spread 4-7 feet wide. It is best grown in full sun but will tolerate light shade. Plant in fertile well-drained garden soil and mulch to help retain moisture. Avoid crowding and overhead watering to help prevent diseases. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes and to 1/3 of its size or more if needed.

In late spring to early summer, 3-4 inch white blend double flowers appear in large clusters and repeat blooms throughout the year. The glossy dark green foliage is on canes with prickles.

White Meidiland can be used as a ground cover, in the border front, in a container, on slopes or cascading over a rock wall.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Good disease resistance. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
