Rosa 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'

Description

This English rose is great when you are short on space and need either a shrub or a climbing rose as it can be trained into both.  Plant it in full sun to partial shade it is tolerant of most soil types but needs moist, well-drained soil.  The flowers are large, fragrant and crimson-magenta in color.  It is robust, disease-resistant, and provides a long bloom season.  It can be used in a border, as a screen, or planted against a wall.  Plant it along a walkway, near a patio or deck where you can enjoy its sweet fragrance.  The name comes from a character in a Thomas Hardy novel.
