Loving Touch™ is a miniature shrub rose that was bred by Nelson F. Jolly in 1983 and was introduced to the USA by Rosehill Farms. Parentage is Rise 'n' Shine x First Prize.
Growing to only 3' tall, it is considered a miniature rose. It is best grown in sandy/loam soil, however, will tolerate clay soil if well-drained. Remove dead or diseased canes anytime. Cut back by 1/3 in early spring. Spring frost protection is required and container-grown plants will need additional protection.
The deep apricot double blooms are fragrant and appear in clusters. The foliage appears on stems with prickles. This rose was bred to tolerate the heat of the south.
Use this plant in containers or the front of the border. Can also be mass-planted.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Fairly disease resistant. See pests of roses to the left.
