Description

Carefree Delight is a hybrid small shrub rose in the Rosaceae family bred by Jacques Mouchotte of France and released in 1991.

This is a dense spreading shrub that grows 2-3 feet tall and spreads 3-5 feet wide. It prefers full sun in amended well-drained moist garden soil.

The light pink flowers have a white eye and yellow stamens, are 2-3 inches wide with a mild fragrance and an average of 10 petals. They bloom in clusters on short stems in flushes throughout the season. Semi-glossy medium green leaves are on stems with prickles.

Use this shrub in containers, borders, walkways, in groups or on the patio in cottage and butterfly gardens. This rose may be difficult to find for sale commercially.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems:  Good disease resistance. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
