Description

Former nurseryman Kurt Bluemel assigned the name 'Cabaret' to the Miscanthus sinensis var. condensatus.  This plant was found in Japan by Kokin Watanabe, raised and given to the U.S. National Arboretum by Masato Yokoi. 'Cabaret' is a tall, densely-tufted grass which typically forms a foliage clump rising 6-9' tall with cream white center with wide dark green margins; individual stems may revert to green; does not self seed.  Unless protected from the weather elements this plant may not survive in zone 5.
