- Phonetic Spelling

- Description
-
Cudweeds are in the Asteraceae (daisy) family and comprise several closely related species that may be winter annuals or short-lived perennials. Seeds are wind-dispersed in prolific numbers. Stems and undersides of leaves are white and hairy. Flowers are tannish-white with brown or purple bracts. Cudweeds are generally regarded as weeds of low fertility soils. This weed is well managed by several preemergence herbicides.
Cudweed is also known by the Latin names Pseudognaphalium spp., Gamochaeta spp.
