- Description

Painted lady is a succulent native to Mexico in the stonecrop family. It is low growing in a rosette with blue-gray leaves with red margins and produces offsets readily. It will send up cup-shaped flowers late winter to spring that are yellow with red tips.
This plant does best in a well-drained potting mix in full to partial sun and is often used as a houseplant. In warm climates, it can be grown in rock gardens and crevice gardens.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: No significant problems. Mealybugs and aphids may be seen. Overwatering can cause yellowing, mushy leaves, and root rot. The leaves can sunburn from prolonged periods of direct sunlight.
