'Moonbeam' is a cultivar of the thread leaf coreopsis which is in the Asteraceae (daisy) family. This plant grows 1-3 feet tall with a similar spread and has many light yellow flowers all summer long. The seeds are sterile but the plant canl spread by rhizomes.
Use this plant in the sunny border, in mass plantings or in containers to give your garden a light airy feel. It prefers full sun but can tolerate light shade, especially in hot areas of the country. 'Moonbeam' tolerates poor soils that are well-drained making them useful in rock gardens. It is also drought, deer, heat and humidity tolerant. Do not overwater or fertilize this plant.
Unlike some Coreopsis flowers, 'Moonbeam' flower pedals are not notched at the tips.
