Description

Not tolerant of air pollution; most cold hardy of cedars; difficulty to tranplant; does not tolerate shade

Pyramidal in youth; dense; flat-topped, horizontally spreading branches with age; thick massive trunk; picturesque

Native to Turkey, subsp. stenacoma is the most winter hardy cedar of Lebanon.  It has a columnar form with short green to blue-green to dark green needles and narrow  3-4 inch cones that mature every other year in the fall.
