Korean Fir is an evergreen with needles that have an attractive silver underside. They are more tolerant of alkaline soils and heat tolerant than most firs, but prefers cool locations. Plant in full sun to partial shade in moist well drained soil. It grows slowly and after about ten years it will cast dense shade. It will not tolerate compacted soil or air pollution. It dislikes wet feet and is often damaged by deer.
It is commonly used as an ornamental yard tree and screen and can also be used as a Christmas Tree. Because it has a shallow root system it is easy to transplant. shallow root system.
