What to look for:  This two-level pond was built by the homeowner. The upper pond has smaller fish and water plants while the lower and larger pond holds koi fish. The large koi need protection from the heron who occasionally pays a visit to the pond. This is accomplished with a two-foot-high removable fence that discourages him.  

The water plants provide both color for the humans and protection and food for the fish. There is even a container of the carnivorous fly trap plant. The sight and sound of the water from the patio is very soothing and is often enjoyed with friends.
