Heptapleurum arboricola

Common Name(s):
Dwarf schefflera, Dwarf umbrella tree, Ocotpus tree, Parasol plant
Cultivar(s):
'Gold Capella' , 'Green Gold', 'Compacta'
Category:
Trees
Comment:

It is a different from the  Schefflera umbrella tree though Shefflera and Heptapleurum are related, so much so the two plants are incredibly difficult to tell apart.    They do have the same care instructions so the plants are generally grouped together. They have bright treen (or variegated) palmately compound leaves.  The leaflets are ovate with entire margins.  Green vareites tollerate low light levels better.  They need bright indirect light, moist but not soggy soil, and high humity to thrive.   This houseplant is easy to take care of and will remove indoor air pollutants.  With age or incorrect care you can get a bare lower branch which can be unattractive.

Red spidermites and scale can be a serious problem.
