Description

Fan Flower is a herbaceous perennial native to Australia found in arid and semi-arid climates. It is hardy in zones 10 and 11 and is grown as an annual in NC. It can be over-winter inside if desired. It has both ascending and horizontal stems and grows to 1.5 feet tall with a 2-foot spread. The dark blue fan-shaped flowers occur in the leaf axis summer through frost. Cultivars are available in other colors. It is heat and drought tolerant.

Plant in well-drained soils in partial sun to partial in hanging pots or containers or allow to drape down a slope or wall.
