Description

'Wollerton Old Hall' is a deciduous climber in the rose family (Rosaceae) Bred by David Austin of Great Britain and introduced in 2011. Parentage is 2 unnamed seedlings.

This rose can be grown as a climber or a shrub and will grow 5-12 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. Plant in full sun in fertile moist well-drained soil. Prune in late winter to control size and remove damaged or diseased canes.

This is one of the most fragrant of the English roses. In late spring or early summer, solitary, fully double 3-4 inch flowers with a rounded form appear and are an apricot-to-yellow blend. It is a good repeat bloomer.  The mid-green glossy leaves appear on canes with few prickles.

If grown as a shrub, use in the back of the border, in groups or as a specimen. As a climber, it can be grown on any verticle object. Works well in an English, cottage or cutting garden.
