Description

Windrush is a hybrid deciduous shrub in the rose family (Rosaceae) bred by David Austin in1984. Parentage is unnamed Seedling x (Canterbury x Golden Wings).

Windrush is a strong bushy shrub that will grow 5-6 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. Grow in full sun in moist fertile well drained soil. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes and to 1/3-1/2 its size.

The soft yellow fragrant semi-double flowers appear in clusters in early summer and bloom in flushes through fall. The glossy green leaves are on canes with prickles.

Use windrush as a specimen or in the border of am English, cottage or cutting garden.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Disease resistant. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
