The Dark Lady rose has dark red flowers with an old rose fragrance, The Dark Lady rose was named after the Dark Lady in Shakespeare's sonnets. The medium-sized flowers typically have over 41 petals, but specimens have produced up to 140 petals. Blooms appear in small clusters and contain mostly solitary flowers. Its buds are long and pointed. This free flowering shrub with a bushy, spreading habit has dark-green foliage with 5 leaflets. Thorns are present.
