Palmgarten Frankfurt is a hybrid shrub rose in Roseaceae family that was hybridized in 1988 in Germany by W. Kordes & Sons. Parentage is (The Fairy x Temple Bells Pollen) x (Bubble Bath x Lilli Marleen).
This rose will grow 3-5 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. It prefers full sun and fertile moist well-drained soil. Mulch will help retain moisture. Prune out dead, diseased or crossed canes at any time. Prune early spring by 1/3rd or more if needed. Avoid overhead watering to help prevent diseases.
The clusters of 2-inch deep pink flowers bloom in flushes throughout the season. Removing spent blooms will encourage the plant to rebloom. The foliage is glossy green and appear on stems with prickles.
Use ths rose as a part of a hedge, a specimen. in a foundation planting or in small groups.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Although quite disease-resistant, watch out for black spot, powdery mildew and rose rust. Insects can includes aphids, caterpillars, mites, leafhoppers and sawfly.. Deer and rabbits with browse the plant.
