New Dawn Climbing Rose is a light pink climbing rose cultivar created in 1930 by Somerset Rose Nursery, NJ. It is a vigorous climber with good disease resistance and has earned several awards including being named the most popular climbing rose in the world. The soft pink flowers are sweetly fragrant and semi-double to double occurring heavily in June and then repeat blooming through fall. The leaves are a glossy green, the stems have prickles and abundant rose hips are produced in the fall for additional interest.
New Dawn is easy to grow and will do best in fertile moist average garden loams in full sun to light shade. It can be grown on a trellis, fence, pergola or other verticle surfaces and will grow up to 15 feet tall and 8 feet wide. It can also be trained into a bush shape if desired.
