Description

Climbing Cécile Brunner is a hybrid climbing sport of the Cecil Brunner rose in the Rosaceae family and was discovered by Franz P. Hosp of the United States in 1894.

This is a tall climber, growing 20-30 feet tall and 10-20 feet wide. Grow in full sun to partial shade in amended well-drained garden soil. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes and to control size.

Light pink double blooms are 1-2 inches across in small to large clusters with a light spicy fragrance. They bloom in late spring to early summer and then in scattered flushes through fall. The foliage is matte dark green on nearly prickle-free canes.

Received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Use on a trellis, wall or arbor for privacy and screening in a cottage or country garden.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Good disease resistance. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
