Description

Lady of the Dawn is a hybrid floribunda shrub rose in the Rosaceae family bred by  Gerrit Pieter Ilsink  of the Netherlands in 1984. Parentage is INTerdress x Stadt den Helder.

This erect arching shrub grows 4-5 feet tall and 2-4 feet wide in full sun in fertile well-drained moist soil, Prune in late winter to early spring to remove old, dead, damaged or crossed canes. Prune further to 1/3 its size or more if needed. 

The light pink blend flowers are 2-3 inches wide with 8-15 petals and an apple fragrance. They bloom in large clusters and repeat blooms in flushes throughout the season. Stems have prickles.

Use this shrub in the border, as a specimen, in groups such as a hedge or for privacy.

Insects, Disea:ses, and Other Plant Problems:  Watch for rust and black spot. Good resistance to powdery mildew. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
