Description

'Echo' is a hybrid Polyantha shrub in the rose family (Rosaceae) and is a sport of 'Tausendschoen' discovered by Ludorf in 1914.

It is a compact bushy shrub growing 2-3 feet tall with a similar spread. Plant in full sun to partial shade in amended well-drained moist garden soil. Prune in late winter to remove dead or diseased canes.

The light pink to salmon-pink semi-double flowers fade to near white, have a mild fragrance and are 2-3 inches across. They bloom in clusters continually throughout the season. The canes are nearly prickle-free.

Use this shrub in the border, in groups, in the cottage or English garden, as a specimen or in containers on the patio or walkways.

Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Susceptible to mildew. See pests of roses to the left. Deer will browse roses.
