Nijisseiki pear shows bright flowers in early spring, bears juicy fruit in late summer, and has red-orange leaves in the fall. Probably the most popular Asian pear variety in the United States. It is cold hardy, drought tolerant and heat tolerant. It is susceptible to Fire Blight and Codling Moth. Plant 2 varieties for best pollination.
