Dwarf Serbian Spruce Picea omorika 'Nana'
- Phonetic Spelling
- PY-see-uh oh-MOR-ee-kah
- Description
-
A compact densely horizontal spreading branched globose to ovate form that is grown for its attractive foliage. Its glossy, dark green needles are pressed flatly to the stem and are stiff being yellow-green above with white stomatal bands (tiny openings or pores) on the underneath, providing a silverly, two-toned effect. Young plants have a uniform habit, that becomes densely conical with maturity.
Although this plant has no serious pest problems, spider mite, aphids, budworms, and borers are some issues affecting this plant.
