Canary island palm evergreen palm tree in the Arecaceae native to the tropical Canary Islands. It is related to the date palm and the fruit, although not choice in amount and flavor, is edible.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Monitor for mealybugs, scale, and thrips. Spider mites are problematic for container plants. Leaf spot, rots, and lethal yellowing can occur.
