Pretty Pistachio Coral Bells Heuchera 'Pretty Pistachio'

'Pretty Pistachio', also known as Coral Bells, is a hybrid cultivar of the genus, Heuchera, with some H. villosa in its background. 'Pretty Pistachio' is an herbaceous perennial with chartreuse to lime-green leaves and clusters of bright pink flowers held on stems above the foliage from spring to early fall. 'Pretty Pistachio' tolerates deep shade and provides year-round interest in a shady part of the landscape. It is a relatively short plant, less than a foot high, but with a 2 foot spread and colorful foliage that is essentially evergreen in warm winter climates. 'Pretty Pistachio' is protected under U. S. Plant Patent PP#29,361.

The genus Heuchera does best in organically rich, humusy, medium moisture, well-drained soils in part shade. Because the parentage of hybrids often determines the best culture including optimum sun exposure, a hybrid such as 'Pretty Pistachio' does best in part shade and tolerates full shade. If you site the plant in a cooler climate, you can apply a winter compost mulch after the ground freezes to prevent root heaving. You can trim back any tattered foliage in early spring.
