Asplenium nidus

Common Name(s):
Birds nest fern, Nest fern
Category:
Ferns
Comment:

An epiphic fern often grown as a houseplant.  Because they are an epiphyte they need high humidity and soil moisture.

Fronds:
It forms large, simple fronds similar to banana leaves. They are light green, wrinkly with a black midrib. The fronds roll back and brown as they die causing a 'birds nest' to develop in the crown of the plant.
