Yellow epimedium is a clump-forming rhizomatous evergreen ground cover. It prefers light to moderate shade and does well in any well-drained garden soil. It is drought tolerant once established so tolerates being planted under trees. It forms a dense ground cover that will help block weed growth. The attractive yellow flowers appear in spring and the heart-shaped foliage is bronzy mottled in spring and fall but green during the summer. It stays attractive all year long.
Use this plant in shady borders, along walkways, naturalized areas, woodland areas or under trees.
