- Description

Copper rose is a succulent native to Mexico in the stonecrop family. It has bright green leaves with red margins and grows in a rosette form on short stems. It may reach up to 10 inches tall. They tend to lose the lower leaves in the fall and winter. If they become leggy, they can be cut back and rooted to a shorter stem. These plants make multiple offsets and will bloom more than once during the growing season with yellow to red-toned cup-shaped flowers.
Plant in a well-drained potting mix in a pot slightly bigger than the root ball. It will have redder margins the more light it receives. Copper rose is mostly used as a house plant and will not survive a hard frost. It warmer regions it can be grown in rock and crevice gardens. Be sure not to over-water or fertilize these plants and allow them to become dormant during the winter.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: No significant problems.
