Coreopsis 'Strawberry Lemonade' is a hybrid perennial tickseed that blooms all summer with showy rose-pink flowers against a backdrop of bright chartreuse leaves. It will grow 8 to 12 inches tall and 12 to 20 inches wide, and has a compact, mounding habit. Coreopsis 'Strawberry Lemonade' was developed by Terra Nova Nurseries as a dwarf variety in 2005 and given PP18299. It is also known as Strawberry Lemonade Hybrid tickseed.
This plant is a fast grower and prefers average, well-drained, acidic soil in full sun. It tolerates poor soils and is drought-tolerant once established. It is winter hardy in zones 9-10. In North Carolina or other colder climates, it could be grown as an annual plant. The blooming period is about 4 weeks. Attracts pollinators.
The flowers consist of rose-pink petal rays with a center of golden disc florets. The leaves are initially bright yellow and turn chartreuse later in the season.
For summer interest, consider using it as an accent, front border planting, for mass planting, or in containers.
Insects, Diseases, and Other Plant Problems: Monitor for aphids, mites, white flies, and thrips. May be susceptible to rust and powdery mildew.
