'Honorine Jobert' anemone is a compact, vigorous, herbaceous perennial Japanese hybrid in the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae). It is a sport discovered in Verdun, France in 1858.
The plant will grow 3-4 feet tall in a mounding form and spread by rhizomes. Plant in full sun to partial shade in consistently moist well-drained amended soils. This plant can be propagated in the winter and spring through root cuttings and division.
The showy 2 to 3-inch white flowers have yellow stamens in a ring surrounding a chartreuse center and bloom for 4 to 8 weeks in August and September. Awarded the Perennial Plant Association’s Perennial of the Year 2016 and The Royal Horticultural Award of Garden Merit in 1993.
Use this plant in containers, in the border or as a specimen in open woodland or cottage gardens.
Insect and Disease Problems: While not having serious problems relating to insects or diseases, this plant may have issues with the following: powdery mildew, leaf/stem smut, leaf spot, downy mildew, caterpillars, nematodes, slugs, flea beetles, Japanese beetles, and black blister beetles.

- Ruffled flowers bloom in late summer/ early fall (around August through September-- though some have been known to bloom from September through November instead). While its stamens are yellow, the petals are white. At the back of the petals is a little pink. Each flower can be up to 3 inches across. Technically the "petals" are sepals (to which there can be up to nine sepals on one flower). Flowers can be single or semi-double and last 5-8 weeks!
